Donations fall into one of two categories:
- Federation ATX (a Texas non-profit)
- Discretionary Funds (Taxable)
Donate To Federation ATX (Non-Profit)
Donate Discretionary Funds (Taxable)
Donate To Federation ATX
Federation ATX (a Texas non-profit) will apply for 501c(3) status through the IRS before the end of the calendar year 2024.
Every penny donated to Federation ATX will support our educational programs.
All lesson plans and data will be released under a Creative Commons 4 International license – the same license NASA uses when releasing educational materials. This will allow any teacher anywhere in the world to download and use our lesson plans for grades K-12 at no cost.
Federation ATX will be staffed with volunteers and will not pay salaries.
Beginning with the fourth quarter of 2024, donations to Federation ATX will be audited by an accredited accounting firm. This audit will list total donations, cash on hand, and expenditures on a category basis.
Donate Discretionary Funds (Taxable)
Discretionary donations (which are taxable) will allow me (Chris Rawley, founder of Federation ATX) to have money outside the charity for personal expenses and also to pay for Federation ATX expenses that fall outside of IRS 501c(3) guidelines and our strict internal rule – that every penny donated to Federation ATX will go to education.
After taxes and fees for donations (GoFundMe and PayPal, each 2.9%) are paid, twenty percent of remaining discretionary funds will be put into a scholarship fund for Native American students. This fund will be dispensed by an independent group of advisors with the necessary experience and expertise to serve students.
Beginning with the fourth quarter of 2024, Discretionary donations will be audited by an accredited accounting firm. This audit will list total donations, cash on hand, and money donated to the scholarship fund (see above).
