What Is The Federation?
Think Starfleet without space ships – an Academy that does the following:
i. Provides open source lesson plans for grades K-12 (Beginning Fall 2025)
ii. Creates model space colonies on Indian reservations (Beginning Spring 2026)
iii. Pioneers new teaching methods based on respect for the natural world
iv. Trains a new generation of scientists, creative thinkers and world leaders
What Is The Vision Of The Federation?
Space X is in the rocket business – designing, engineering, making and flying the incredible vehicles that are propelling mankind into a new age of interplanetary travel.
NASA is in the business of strict scientific implementation and data acquisition – creating highly trained teams that build some of the most sophisticated machines and instruments ever conceived in order to gather precise data off world.
The Federation is in the business of getting kids ready for a career in space exploration, either as astronauts or as scientists in essential support roles on the ground. We will not place teachers or educate students directly, instead we will provide materials free of charge to teachers anywhere in the world as follows:
i. We will create open source educational materials – with additional emphasis on imagining and testing new methods around teaching and researching science, the natural world, space, and space colonies.
ii. We will create community programs on Native American and Canadian Indian reservations that will treat each reservation as a model space colony – enabling all residents to participate in research around organizing and feeding off world colonies.
Everything is Open Source
Following in the footsteps of NASA and ESA, all program data and educational materials in our programs will be released under an open source Creative Commons 4 International license – enabling teachers anywhere in the world to download our curriculum and our model space colony framework at no cost.
